Gas Fireplace Installation. Empire Boulevard 48" 2-sided fireplace can be installed with or without decorative fronts on any interior wall. Install it on dividing walls or between rooms to get the most out of this 36,000 BTU unvented gas fireplace.
Gas Type. Empire Boulevard's linear vent-free fireplace is available in natural gas or propane. Though this fireplace is gas operated, it comes with a thermostat variable remote control to make it a lot easier to manage its beautiful flame display and heat.
Ignition. Save energy and money with this gas fireplace's Intermittent Pilot system, it eliminates the standing pilot. During a power outage, your Boulevard Fireplace can still be used on battery backup mode.
Create a work of art and customize your Boulevard fireplace according to your taste with its optional liners, surround, decorative media, and accent light.
Liner. Get the optional reflective Black Porcelain liner with burner cover to give this fireplace an unimaginable illusion of depth.
Surround. Choose a decorative 1½-inch beveled front in matte black, a ¾-inch beveled black frame, or skip the surround and have your contractor install tile, stone or plaster right to the fireplace opening– the ultimate in design flexibility.
Decorative Media. 3 sq. ft. of decorative crushed glass is required and comes included with this 48" fireplace. Additional accessories like decorative logs, pebbles, and more colors of fire glass are available for purchase.
Optional Accent Light. Optional accent light can be added to enhance the look of the 48" fireplace's liner and decorative glass.
Optional Forced Air Heat Management Kit. Reduce the warmth of your gas fireplace by venting some of the heat outside your home. The HFMA kit is great for areas with varying climates.

Clearances to combustibles: 36" minimum to a perpendicular combustible side wall

Mantel clearance: Follow the mantel chart in the installation manual for any combustible mantel above the unit.

Venting: Vent-free. No chimney, flue or vent pipe is required.

Minimum room size: The room must have at least 50 cubic feet of volume per 1,000 Btu/hr of input (the manual's "unconfined space" rule). At the 36,000 Btu/hr maximum input that is at least 1,800 cubic feet.

Bedrooms and bathrooms: Not permitted. The manual prohibits installing an unvented fireplace rated over 10,000 Btu/hr in a bedroom or bathroom (over 6,000 Btu/hr in a bathroom). In the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, unvented propane and natural gas-fired space heaters are prohibited in bedrooms and bathrooms.
