/Typically, a traditional sauna requires about 30 to 45 minutes to reach the optimal temperature. In this period, the sauna rocks are warmed up to deliver a gentle heat and soothing steam.
Infrared saunas generally take about 10 to 20 minutes to become fully effective. Instead of heating the air, they use infrared lamps to warm your body directly, meaning they don’t have to heat a large volume of air or stones before becoming effective.
The size of the infrared sauna plays a role in the heating time. Additionally, the number and quality of the infrared emitters can affect the heating time.
If you're not well-hydrated, it's best not to stay in a sauna for more than 20 minutes to avoid dehydration. But if you're in good health, physically fit, and have drank enough water, you can safely extend your sauna time to about 30 to 45 minutes, or even up to an hour.
